Many people ask me about my morning routine. I truly believe the way you start your day sets the tone for the day. Kind of like a great first chapter in a book, it gives you a good feeling about everything coming.
While you can of course create the morning you want, there is a strong philosophy about the 5a.m. club; people who get up at 5a.m. and begin their day with intent. I am one of these believers.
(Does it have to be 5 am? No, but it should be about an hour before anyone else wakes up. You’ll be a little tired when you wake up, but, aren’t you anyway?).
My morning begins with a glass of water, followed by a shower. I cap the shower off with a 15-30 second ice shower. I then do a deep breathing routine I learned from Wim Hoff, which involves extended periods of holding your breath. After, I do about 10 minutes of meditation, followed by 10-15 minutes of journaling. My journaling consists of a list of things I am grateful for, goals for the day, and any other thoughts. (coffee is my preferred drink when journaling).
Since I began, this routine served me well and definitely made me feel much more productive and appreciative of every day. Give it a try and let me know how it goes.
